I painted my own bumpers...

Bumper Molding? Are you talking about that thing on the bottom of my bumper? That is my front lip, and I'm leaving that black. There is a guy with an all white Si around here who has a black front lip so I guess it is supposed to be like that.

I see the painting your own bumpers topic came back to life for a while. I'm just letting you know I did it and it came out very well. My only problem is my car is Gran Prix White like on the S2000 and they don't make Plasti-Coat in that color since it is too new. But I sanded, promoted, primered, and painted my bumpers frost white and it came out good. But I ordered exact color matched spray paint from paintscratch.com to finish it off with and some clear coat so it should look great after that. Here is a picture of it as of now...



I put my clear corners on today so this pic is already dated.

Looks pretty good! It's kinda weird though, cuz the rubber molding on the bumper is white, but on the rest of the car is black... Any plans to re-paint the molding? Might look kinda cool if you repainted the black moulding on the rest of the car white...

Yeah I will probably paint that sooner or later but first things first.

So you just painted them with spray paint??? How's the finish on them, they kinda look darker in the picture but I think it's because of that rubber molding that he was talking about. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this, except with my dad's spray gun, I hope it turns out good. I want the front lip too, but I'm not forking out $57 for one, I guess I'll have to try to find one in a junkyard. I think I'm going to leave the black stripe around mine, but paint the mirrors, if I were you I think I'd leave the door handles alone though, theyd just get scratched all to crap anyway. It looks nice though, good job.

No, I'm talking about the rubber stripe that runs down the side of the car (about half-way up the door)...

It looks darker because it's not the right color. My car is Gran Prix White, the bumpers are Frost White. But I have Gran Prix White paint coming in the mail to finish them off.

I'm probably going to paint my side moldings but I'm leaving my door handles black because at night I scratch the hell out of them when I can't see where the hole is so what would be the point of painting them.
